Well we want everyone to join in the fun… If you’re in Madrid and you have a few hours to spend with us, we’ll give you the opportunity, not only of tasting the best of Spanish Vegan cooking, but also taking it home with you! Learn how to make an authentic Spanish vegan meal that will surprise even your non-vegan friends.
The classes take place in La cocina de Babette, a small and fully-equipped cooking school just to the north of central Madrid, boasting a beautifully secluded garden that contains an organic allotment from which some of the ingredients you’ll be using are actually harvested. Beatriz Echeverría, teacher and owner of the school, has lived in the U.S. and U.K., and is responsible for creating pioneer cooking programs in her native Madrid.
Our private, specially designed, hands on cooking classes will let you dive into the astounding flavors of Spanish cuisine and still remain faithful to vegan principles. In fact, our Seaweed Paella will have you wondering where we hid the fish, and Gazpacho, one of Spain’s classics, will turn into one of your all-time Vegan favorites. You’ll be preparing a full meal, from starters right through to dessert, and what’s best, when the cooking’s finished, you can sit down in the garden (weather permitting, which is usually the case) and enjoy it all as lunch or dinner, accompanied by Catalan organic Cava (sparkling wine) and Babette’s sourdough bread.
