María will be your host for the cookery day. Galician-born and passionate about cooking, she has made of her passion her way of life by sharing the delicious recipes of traditional Galician cuisine at her welcoming private cooking school in the heart of the Old Town.

In the company of María, your cooking experience will start with a private visit to the extraordinary local food market, the second most visited place in Santiago de Compostela thanks to its history, architecture and local flavor, a food lover´s paradise of fresh and traditional Galician produce.

From the food market it´s a short walk along the monumental historic center to the cooking school where, with the help of one of the school´s cooking teachers, you will prepare a full, mouth-watering Galician menu, including recipes such as pulpo a feira (octopus Galician style), Galician style vieiras (scallops), Santiago cake…María´s cooking instructors are seasoned chefs and cooks with long experience at the kitchens of various regional restaurants, who now also share their knowledge about the rich cuisine of Galicia as cooking teachers.

Once the food is ready, enjoy the authentic traditional lunch with fine Galician wine and, if you have time, a nice sobremesa (after-meal talk).
